From a historical point the Salzkammergut is a region in Upper Austria in the area of Bad Ischl, Bad Goisern and Hallstatt, later also Ebensee and Gmunden, nowadays the term Salzkammergut generally refers to a region that extends from Fuschlsee (Lake Fuschl), Wolfgangsee (Lake Wolfgang) and Mondsee (Mondsee Lake) to the Almtal (Alm Valley), from the valley of the Vöckla river to the Dachstein and Grimming mountains. In the Dachstein Salzkammergut region you will discover small wellness oases ranging from the massage institute to the energetics studio. The biggest wellness hotel, the Eurotherme Bad Ischl (thermal spa) is located in the neighbouring village Bad Ischl.
